Utica, N.Y. - The Central New York Labor Council will observe Workers Memorial Day on Tuesday, April 28th, to honor and remember all who were either injured or killed on the job. In their memory, we will continue our struggle there for safe workplaces.

The coronavirus pandemic creates new dangers for healthcare workers and frontline employees. We will hear from labor leaders from across Oneida and Herkimer counties at the current state of workplace safety measures.

A 2017 AFL-CIO report found that an estimated 60,000 workers died from occupational diseases. Nearly 3.7 million workers suffered from work-related injuries and illnesses.

This is one of over two dozen AFL-CIO affiliated events occurring across the country to mourn our workers.

Due to social distancing directives from New York State and Oneida County, CNYLC will be live streaming the event on our Facebook page (@cnyLaborCouncil)
